Omen¶
The chessboard awaits. Omen is the Reisenjima Henge gauntlet from the November 2016 era of retail: five gates of trials, three Glassy sentinels, and the Caturae — Kin, Gin, Fu, Kyou and Kei — with the hidden Prime, Ou, beyond them. It is the home of paragon job cards, Caturae scales and the Regal treasures, and the road to Artifact armor +2 and +3.
Quick start
Get Phoenix's blessing and a mystical canteen from Incantrix at Ethereal Ingress #10 in Reisenjima, gather your group (up to 18), and choose Enter Omen. You start with 10 minutes; each gate cleared grants +10 (cap 50).
Getting in¶
Incantrix and Coelestrox stand at Ethereal Ingress #10 in Reisenjima (reachable through the Ethereal Ingress network).
- Phoenix's blessing — permanent key item; Incantrix bestows it on any level-99 adventurer.
- Mystical canteen — one per entrant, consumed on entry. Incantrix fills one every 20 hours and banks up to 3 for you while you're away.
- An ultimate weapon — every entrant must have forged one of the server's ultimate weapons: any final (iLvl 119 III) Relic, Empyrean, Mythic, or Aeonic, or a claimed Prime. Owning one is enough — equipped or stored, and it is not consumed. Anyone in the group without one blocks entry.
- Group size — solo up to a full alliance of 18. Only the leader initiates; everyone needs their own canteen and must be standing nearby.
- Time — 10 minutes on entry, +10 per ethereal ingress used, +30 for the smaller light, hard cap 50 minutes.
The five gates¶
| Gate | What awaits | Bonus objectives |
|---|---|---|
| 1 — First Gate | Tiger, Fly — 14 Sweetwater + 2 Transcended, plus a random floor objective | 3 in 3 min |
| 2 — Second Gate | Beetle, Leech — 14 Sweetwater + 2 Transcended, plus a random floor objective ← larger/smaller light choice | 3 in 3 min |
| 3 — Third Gate | One of the three Glassy sentinels, at random | — |
| 4 — Fourth Gate | By mid-boss route (Craver: Skeleton, Cyhiraeth, Ghost, Doll, Gorger: Chapuli, Treant, Mantis, Doomed, Thinker: Elemental, Slime, Lucani, Worm) — 28 Sweetwater + 4 Transcended, plus a random floor objective | 5 in 5 min |
| 5 — Final Gate | The Caturae of your choice (picked at the fourth gate's ingress) | — |
The smaller light — Luminous Rampart. Choosing the smaller light at the second gate grants +30 minutes and replaces the remaining gates with one sprawling trial: 56 creatures (Rabbit, Mandragora, Lizard, Vulture, Ladybug, Porxie, Panopt, Unseelie) in successive waves, with 10 bonus objectives over 10 minutes. Fell every last one — with the run's opener alive at the final blow — and the exit ingress offers something else entirely (see Ou below).
Hidden vault. Leaving the third or final gate has a 10% chance to detour through a chamber of treasure caskets: gil, paragon cards, moonbow materials, scales, a spare canteen — and sometimes Regal Pumps.
Objectives & paragon cards¶
Each trash gate rolls one main objective at random:
- Vanquish one specific monster.
- Vanquish N Sweetwater monsters.
- Vanquish all Transcended monsters.
- Vanquish all monsters.
- No trial this time. The ingress stands open.
Alongside it, timed bonus objectives begin the moment battle is joined (N scales with group size, capped at 6):
- Vanquish a number of foes
- Use a number of job abilities on your foes
- Cast a number of spells on your foes
- Execute a number of skillchains
- Perform a number of magic bursts
- Deal a number of critical hits
- Use a number of elemental weapon skills
- Use a number of physical weapon skills
- Use a number of weapon skills
- Deal 2,000+ damage in a single attack
- Deal 30,000+ damage with a single weapon skill
- Deal 30,000+ damage with a single magic burst
- Deal 15,000+ damage with a single (non-burst) magic attack
Every 5 objectives completed (main objectives, bonus objectives and boss kills all count — progress carries between runs) pays every member one paragon card for their current main job. Coelestrox converts 5 cards of one job into 1 of another.
The Glassy sentinels (third gate)¶
The third gate holds one of three Empty sentinels, chosen at random. Each drops its crystal every time, plus one of its three treasures:
| Sentinel | Guaranteed | One of |
|---|---|---|
| Glassy Craver | Hope Crystal | Nusku Shield, Sherida Earring, Anu Torque |
| Glassy Gorger | Fulfillment Crystal | Kishar Ring, Enki Strap, Erra Pendant |
| Glassy Thinker | Thought Crystal | Adad Amulet, Knobkierrie, Adapa Shield |
The Caturae (final gate)¶
The fourth gate's ingress lets you choose your Caturae. Every kill pays its scale and moonbow material (plus a 15% chance of a second scale) and awards its bead key item to every member; each accessory drops at 10% and the coveted body piece at 1%.
| Caturae | Job | Watch for | Always | Accessories | Rare body |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kin | BLM/WAR | Target -> Eleventh Dimension (marked player is terrorized unless they break away) | Kin's Scale, Moonbow Steel | Utu Grip, Ilabrat Ring | Dagon Breastplate |
| Gin | THF/BLM | Zero Hour (hate reset + Perfect Dodge); Suppressive Sphere after skillchains (break it with physical blows) | Gin's Scale, Moonbow Leather | Yamarang, Dingir Ring | Ashera Harness |
| Fu | WAR/BLM | Ebullient Nullification (strips nearby buffs and grows stronger per effect absorbed) | Fu's Scale, Moonbow Stone | Niqmaddu Ring, Shulmanu Collar | Nisroch Jerkin |
| Kyou | MNK/WHM | Extreme evasion; Unfaltering Bravado (10,000 damage split among those in front); Hundred Fists when low | Kyou's Scale, Moonbow Cloth | Enmerkar Earring, Iskur Gorget | Udug Jacket |
| Kei | WHM/BLM | Magic ward broken briefly by skillchains; rotating elemental spikes; one Benediction; Dancing Fullers | Kei's Scale, Moonbow Urushi | Ammurapi Shield, Lugalbanda Earring | Shamash Robe |
Ou, the Prime Caturae¶
Collect all five beads (one per Caturae felled), take the smaller light, and slay every creature on the rampart with the run's opener alive at the final blow. The exit ingress will then offer a sixth choice. Accepting it consumes every member's beads.
Ou (RDM/WAR) — Every Caturae signature move on a scripted ladder, Chainspell at 65%, and Prophylaxis at 10% (rapid self-restoration -- burn it down).
| Drop | Chance |
|---|---|
| Moonbow Steel, Moonbow Cloth, Moonbow Leather, Moonbow Urushi, Moonbow Stone, Moonlight Coral | Guaranteed (one of each) |
| Regal Belt, Regal Earring, Regal Gem, Regal Necklace, Regal Ring | 15% each |
| Regal Captain's Gloves, Regal Cuffs, Regal Gauntlets, Regal Gloves | 5% (one of the four) |
| The five Caturae scales | 15% each |
Differences from retail¶
The implementation follows bg-wiki's Omen reference wherever the data exists. Known deviations, kept deliberately small:
- One platform, five gates. Every floor stages on the retail first-floor platform of Reisenjima Henge; the ethereal ingress advances the run in place instead of teleporting between rooms (the other floors' geometry was never captured on any server emulator).
- Stand-in boss models. The Caturae's true model IDs were never publicly captured, so the five wear Escha Zdei arcana forms and Ou appears as a battleclad chariot. Their kits and drops are unaffected.
- Signature moves are scripted. Moves whose animations were never captured (Zero Hour, Dancing Fullers, Ebullient Nullification, Unfaltering Bravado, Target/Eleventh Dimension, Prophylaxis, the Glassy Sync moves) resolve as scripted effects with chat telegraphs instead of client animations.
- Phoenix's blessing is granted by Incantrix at level 99 instead of requiring the full Rhapsodies of Vana'diel mission line.
- Reforging completes instantly at the retail "cheap"-tier fee (paid in Escha Beads), and the +3 step's second-day crafted materials are waived.
- The "restore 500 HP ten times" bonus objective is not offered; all other retail objective types are implemented.
